FAQs about this Website:

What about Club Colors?

We can change the colors of almost anything to suit your Club colors or artistic palette.

Is the site easy to update?

Absolutely. All the changeable data is created or edited by simple forms.

This FAQ drop down system is not amenable to a non-techie editing it, but we can give you step by step instructions if you want to use it. We could put all of the FAQs into a form system like the Players list if you would rather. It really depends on how often the FAQs change. In our experience, FAQs don't change often.

I don't like how the site operates!

Not a problem (probably). Let's talk about what you want to see or do.

Of course there will be some things that are too complex for us to do, but this is supposed to be a fairly simple website, with low maintenance.

Documents, Contracts?

With us or for on the site?

We can link or add any PDF or DOC document anywhere on the site, and have you be able to upload or delete them at will.

There will be a fairly simple contract between you and Pro Bono. Basically it comes down to: We promise to build you a functional website for free based on this demo site, but changes and updating stop after we turn it over to you (except if something stops working). You are responsible for any changes (or problems) made by anyone you ask or hire to work on the website after we turn it over to you. You pay for domain registration and hosting and any special plugins that are not part of our standard package.

One other thing that you are responsible for is content and data entry.

How does this work?
  1. You decide you want a free website design.
  2. We sign a simple contract.
  3. You acquire a domain name and hosting (We can help with that).
  4. You give me access to your domain registrar and hosting service (with restrictions).
  5. We talk to you about what you want.
  6. We ask for some specific content.
  7. We design a prototype.
  8. You critique the prototype as specifically as you can.
  9. We do the design-critique loop as often as needed.
  10. We agree that the site is done.
  11. You take over and we're done.

You are not being abandoned at the end of this process. Obviously things happen with a dynamic site, email us and we'll see what we can do.

Do you offer a maintenance service?

We can if you really want it. We aren't looking for a job.

If you are a school, we bet that there is a senior who knows more than we do about website building, and our website building platform (WordPress) is used and taught around the world. If you are a club, then bets are you have a tech person on one of your teams, or they have a kid that can help.

If you really want us, then we're looking at maybe an hour per month at $75/hour or $900/year (check computer programming fees, this is cheap). We'll kick the tires on the site, check for errors, check for plugin updates, make small changes at your request.

We could possibly do an "on-call" maintenance. We can talk about that if you want.
